Theatresearch was appointed as the Heritage Team Leader for this highly prestigious project. As the oldest working theatre in the British Isles the complex story of this building’s evolution needed to be unraveled both carefully and systematically.
Working with other specialists including historic paint analysis, documentary research, and conservation planning, it was possible to unpick man of the changes that had been made to the auditorium during its long and extraordinary life.
