Theatresearch was commissioned by The National Trust to undertake a detailed piece of research to support and underpin the restoration of the theatre. The image clearly shows the Georgian ventilation duct which took the fumes from a stove located in the pit – this and the discovery of a medieval well in the auditorium have certainly enhanced our understanding of the building!
